State Mandated Screenings

During the 2019-2020 school year, our clinical staff performed over 1,800 hearing screenings and over 2,000 vision screenings for students in the New Orleans area.

How does it work?

Our clinical support team coordinates with the school administration to schedule an on-site hearing and vision screenings per state-mandated requirements. Every participant must fill out a consent form that must be signed by a parent or guardian 18 years or older. You can find all the required consent forms on our consent form page.

All screenings are free for students regardless of their insurance status. If your child fails a hearing or vision screening, a team member will provide a prescription for eyeglasses or a referral to a local audiologist.
